UNDER 6 MONTHS INFANTS FEEL THIRST
World Health Organization and UNICEF say that less than 6 months babies do not feel thirst. This is quite wrong.
Under 6 months infants feel thirst this is proved through normal hypothalamic babies and babies who are Hypothalamic disorders impairing thirst e.g. cerebral disease.
Under 6 months infants who feel thirst and missed water for 6 months because of unable to ask for water lead to osmotic water loss from the brain cause rapture of cerebral vein a part from clinical  manifestation in the early stage progression to seizures, Coma and death.
Remember that hypernatraemia is the disease of infants who are unable to ask for water. Ref Scientific American Medicine by Rubein Stein and federman.
